At San Antonio Regional Hospital, at this time, limited testing for coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, may be available to those with mild to moderate respiratory illness who are over age 65 and have a history of lung, heart, liver, or kidney disease, or who are immunocompromised. Testing requires a physician’s order.
Whether you have been tested for COVID-19 or not, the recommendations are the same. Stay home and isolate during your illness. Only leave your home to: 1) seek medical care, 2) pick up groceries, or 3) go to the pharmacy. Your visitors should be limited, and you should maintain a six foot distance between yourself and others whenever possible. Finally, frequent handwashing and cleaning surfaces in your home are highly recommended. .
Any further questions or concerns should be directed to your family doctor. Additional helpful information on COVID-19 can be found on the Centers for Disease Control website.
