San Antonio Regional Hospital has been recognized with the 2023 Women's Choice Award^® as one of America's Best Hospitals for Patient Safety. The Women’s Choice awards are the only awards that identify the country's best healthcare institutions based on robust criteria that consider both clinical excellence and female patient satisfaction.

The methodology for this award is unique in that it evaluates twelve Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) measures of infections and complications as well as the CMS Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey results. In addition, primary research about women’s healthcare preferences is also taken into account. Recipients of the America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Safety award have led the country by implementing safe practices that have ultimately saved lives.
