WILLIAM G. LOUDON, MD, PhD

MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. William G. Loudon did his undergraduate training at the University of California, San Diego where he majored in biochemistry and cell biology. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston, and his PhD in cancer biology from the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He completed a student fellowship at the Experimental Neurology Branch of the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, and performed his general neurosurgical residency at the Medical College of Virginia. He pursued a post-doctoral fellowship at Massey Cancer Institute/Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Loudon completed his pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County, California. He completed Gamma Knife training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, which is the birthplace of Gamma Knife treatment in America. Dr. Loudon has extensive experience in Gamma Knife techniques with expertise in brain tumors in both pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Loudon has been published in numerous medical journals for his specialization in brain tumors and cancer cell biology.

LEW DISNEY, MD, PhD

AFFILIATED PHYSICIAN

Dr. Lew Disney received his Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Physics at McMaster University, where he also completed his Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Disney earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Experimental Surgery at the University of Alberta. He completed his neurosurgical residency and was certified in neurosurgery in 1991. Dr. Disney is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada Board. He was Gamma Knife trained and certified in 2008.

RAMIN AMIRNOVIN, MD

AFFILIATED PHYSICIAN

Dr. Ramin AmirNovin graduated from the University of California, San Diego as a chemistry and biochemistry double major. He received his MD with honors from New York University Medical School. Dr. AmirNovin completed his general surgery and neurological surgery training at Harvard Hospital of Massachusetts General Hospital, where he also completed two years of specialty training in Functional/Stereotactic Neurosurgery. Dr. AmirNovin’s areas of expertise include brain tumors, movement disorders, pain syndromes, and epilepsy.

SRI G. GORTY, MD

Dr. Sri Gorty received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine (NEOUCOM) in 1996. He completed his Radiation Oncology residency in 2001 at State University of New York Upstate in Syracuse, New York, with experience in Gamma Knife. He also completed Gamma Knife training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Gorty has extensive experience with brain tumors and other cancers, in both pediatric and adult patients.

ALI H. MESIWALA, MD

AFFILIATED PHYSICIAN

Dr. Ali Mesiwala received his bachelor’s degree in biomedical and electrical engineering at Johns Hopkins University and his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in neurological surgery at the University of Washington. Dr. Mesiwala was a registrar in the National Health Service in neurosurgery at the Atkinson Morley’s Hospital in London, U.K. In addition to treating general neurosurgical and spine problems, Dr. Mesiwala specializes in the treatment of complex brain tumors, skull base lesions, pituitary tumors, and vascular abnormalities.

FRANK HSU, MD

AFFILIATED PHYSICIAN

Dr. Frank Hsu is the Chair of the Department of Neurological Surgery at University of California, Irvine. Dr. Hsu completed his neurological surgery residency training at Oregon Health Sciences University and completed two fellowships in Cerebrovascular & Skull Base Surgery at Barrow Neurological Institute and Functional Stereotactic and Pain Surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Hsu is a board certified neurosurgeon who specializes in cerebrovascular, minimally invasive and open skull base surgery. He has extensive expertise in radiosurgery and functional surgery for movement disorders, deep brain stimulation, epilepsy and pain.  Dr. Hsu also is highly skilled at treating patients with aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and cavernous malformations, as well as malignant and benign tumors of the brain and spine, including pituitary tumors and meningioma’s. His research interests are in biomedical engineering, its application in neurosurgery and the biomechanics of cerebral aneurysms
 

KRUPALI K. TEJURA, MD

AFFILIATED PHYSICIAN

Dr. Krupali Tejura received her Bachelor of Arts in both biology and sociology from University of Southern California. She received her medical degree at University of California at Los Angeles, where she was awarded a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She completed her training in Radiation Oncology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

YVETTE D. MARQUEZ, MD

Dr. Yvette Marquez graduated from the University of Rochester in 2006 and completed her residency at LAC/USC Medical Center in 2015.

AARON R. CUTLER, MD

Dr. Aaron Cutler graduated from New York Medical College in 2006.  He completed his residency at UCLA Medical  Center in 2012.

San Antonio Regional Hospital is dedicated to ensuring a smooth process for patients and for those physicians referring to the Southern California Regional Gamma Knife Center at San Antonio. Nichole is a resource specialist who can provide information about San Antonio's Gamma Knife services and capabilities to physicians and their office staff. She is also available as a patient liaison and contact throughout the treatment experience, and can provide an individualized treatment program with pre and post procedure administrative assistance.
