• A New Day. A New Way.

  • Your health is essential and your safety is San Antonio Regional Hospital’s highest priority.

  • At San Antonio Regional Hospital, there are two sides to the COVID-19 crisis.  While we are actively treating COVID-19 patients, we also know that many others are delaying essential care.  Keeping all patients safe and healthy is our top priority, virus or no virus.

Putting your health on hold during COVID-19 can lead to serious complications.  With our detailed screening processes and separate nursing units, you can have peace of mind.  Whether you have COVID-19 symptoms, are experiencing a heart attack or stroke, need cancer treatment, or will soon deliver a bundle of joy, the San Antonio Care Team is here for you.  We are committed to providing safe, compassionate, high quality care for you and your family. The hospital has a number of safety precautions s in place as we operate in this new COVID-19 environment.

Is it safe to come to the hospital? Be assured, the answer is yes. We have a number of procedures in place as we operate in this new COVID-19 environment.

    • All Emergency Department (ER) patients are triaged and screened for COVID-19 symptoms.
    • If COVID-19 is suspected, patients are placed in one of our isolated COVID-19 treatment units.
    • Urgent Care patients call from their vehicle when they arrive at the facility to be screened for COVID-19 symptoms before they enter the facility.

    • Pre-screening patients allows us to maintain COVID-free waiting rooms for non-COVID patients who are seeking other essential medical care.
    • Waiting rooms are also continually sanitized.

    • While most hospital visitation is restricted at this time, all hospital visitors, staff, and vendors are screened for COVID-19 symptoms and cleared via a temperature check upon arrival.
    • Everyone entering the hospital’s facilities is required to wear a mask.
    • Patients who are scheduled for surgery and other procedures are administered a COVID-19 screening test as part of our routine pre-op testing.

    • We prioritize safety by separating our hospitalized COVID-19 patients on separate units equipped with negative pressure isolation rooms.
    • Negative pressure technology prevents air from flowing from the patient’s room into the hallway.
    • Our entire Vineyard Tower and all critical care units are equipped with negative pressure airflow.

    • All San Antonio care team members are fully equipped with the appropriate level of PPE for their work area. PPE may include isolation masks, N-95 masks, face shields, goggles, gowns, and gloves.
    • PPE safeguards against the spread of COVID-19 and keeps patients and staff safe.
