San Antonio Regional Hospital offers its condolences to the family of Michael Mammone, emergency room physician who was tragically hit while riding his bicycle and then stabbed to death last week.  Mammone worked as a physician in our emergency room from 1997 to 2018 and made an impact on everyone who worked alongside him.

"He was a kind and gentle person in both his personal and professional life. He lent himself to the care of his patients. Even as an emergency physician, he followed up with patients, sometimes in person at their homes.  Mike was a devoted physician, husband and father and always gracious. He was a mentor to me along with many of us. He will be truly missed.," said Dennis Trigueros, M. D., Past President of the Medical Staff.
