This award signifies that San Antonio Regional Hospital is one of the top healthcare providers in the country based on a review of almost 5,000 hospitals. San Antonio Regional Hospital was recognized in the following areas: • Heart Care (top 1%) • Emergency Care (top 10%) • Cancer Care (top 11%) The Women’s Choice Award is the only distinction that identifies the nation’s best health care institutions based on robust criteria that considers patient satisfaction, clinical excellence, relevant accreditations and women’s preferences when it comes to treatment and a quality hospital experience. Additionally, each service line award has supplementary criteria that are specific to the service line. The methodology is 100% objective, replicable and uniform. Only the Top 13% of hospitals in the nation qualified for a 2025 award. San Antonio Regional Hospital has earned the Best Hospitals for Heart Care by offering a minimum number of cardiac and/or vascular services. Recognized hospitals must offer at least six of the following services: Cardiac Catheter Lab, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Cardiac Surgery, Carotid Stenting, Coronary Interventions, Electrophysiology, Vascular Interventions, Vascular Surgery and Coronary Intensive Care (CCU). It also performed well on heart attack and heart failure mortality and readmission rates and has a high HCAHPS recommendation score. San Antonio Regional Hospital earned the Best Hospital for Emergency Care Award by having an above average patient recommendation rate and consistently ranking in the top 25-50 percent of the hospitals reporting on their emergency department’s performance to CMS (including time spent in the ER, left without being seen, timely stroke evaluation, and sepsis care).
