What is Urgent Care?
Urgent care facilities often provide great convenience after hours, on weekends, or when you cannot see your primary care doctor due to scheduling issues. Urgent care clinics can handle a wide range of immediate medical services for treatment of illnesses or injuries that do not require a visit to a hospital emergency room. If you have a serious medical condition, go directly to the nearest emergency room or call 9-1-1. Don’t take any chances with potentially life-threatening conditions.
- Minor cuts, scrapes, and abrasions
- Sprains (e.g., sprained ankle or wrist)
- Muscle strains (e.g., stretching or tearing of a muscle or tendon)
- Fevers and headaches
- Colds and coughs
- Flu-like symptoms
- Mild asthma
- Earaches and infections
- Rashes and bumps
- Sore throats
- Vomiting and diarrhea
As noted above, an urgent care facility assists with minor medical conditions. If you have difficulty breathing, are suffering severe pain, have a deep cut, chest pain, large fractures, pregnancy problems, or other life-threatening conditions, go directly to the nearest emergency room or call 9-1-1.
