Need a TB Test? Get a Quick, Reliable TB Skin Test at Urgent Care

Whether it's for a job, school, or travel requirement, many people need a TB (tuberculosis) skin test to screen for exposure to the bacteria that cause tuberculosis. Urgent care clinics offer this service on a walk-in basis, making it fast and convenient to get tested without an appointment.

The TB skin test, also known as a PPD test (purified protein derivative), is a simple procedure. A small amount of testing solution is injected just under the skin of your forearm. You'll need to return to the clinic within 48 to 72 hours to have the site checked for a reaction, which determines if the result is positive or negative.

San Antonio Regional Hospital’s urgent care clinics are well-equipped to perform both the initial test and the follow-up reading. Providers can also offer documentation for work, school, or immigration purposes, and guide you through next steps if a positive result requires further testing such as a chest X-ray.

TB skin testing at one of our four urgent care clinics is a quick and affordable option for routine health screenings, ideal for individuals, healthcare workers, and students alike.
