This class series covers cardiac risk factors, congestive heart failure, education, and how to stay healthy through blood pressure management, stress management, and exercise.

This educational class is designed to help you and your family gain a better understanding of cancer and chemotherapy. It is for men and women with any cancer type and will be individualized for your needs.

This support group provides a safe space for caregivers to work through their feelings and the emotional challenges that come with caring for a loved one with cancer.

Nutrition Counseling

Keep yourself healthy while undergoing cancer treatment with a one-on-one counseling session with a registered dietitian. Learn ways to help maintain a healthy body weight and about the nutrition needed for your body to sustain strength and promote recovery.

MATERNITY & PARENTING

Maternity Tour (virtual)

Couples considering delivering at San Antonio Regional Hospital are encouraged to attend a tour of the Maternity Unit. To learn more about Maternity Services, please go to our Healthy Beginnings Maternity Services.

Note: We encourage our patients to sign up early in their pregnancy to take advantage of the full series of classes.


Prepared Childbirth (LaMaze) Class (virtual)

Learn basic breathing and relaxation techniques and what to expect when you are in labor. Refresher classes are also available.

Breastfeeding Class (virtual)

This class is offered by a certified lactation educator to provide encouragement and instruction in the methods of breastfeeding. Attend this class before your baby is born. In addition, our breastfeeding experts are available to assist you while you are hospitalized. We also offer a appointments to our Family Care Center or newborn feeding center to provide in-person assistance and support to breastfeeding mothers after the birth of their baby.

Infant Care Class  (virtual)

This class is designed to educate parents on the characteristics of the new baby. Physical care such as bathing, diapering, umbilical cord, and circumcision care are covered.

ORTHOPEDIC

Total Joint Replacement Class 

Once you and your surgeon have made the decision to have a joint replacement, our goal is to prepare you and your family for your surgery, recovery, and rehabilitation. Our Total Joint Replacement Pre-op Class is taught by our Orthopedic Nurse Navigator, as well as a physical therapy team member. You will learn how to prepare for surgery, what to expect before, during, and after your procedure and receive answers to any questions you may have.
