April 2026 DAISY Award Recipient

Jonathan Whidden, Intensive Care Unit, DAISY Award – April 2026

Jonathan Whidden, Intensive Care Unit
DAISY Award – April 2026

Jon began his nursing career at San Antonio in 2005 after serving in the military. He started on our Med/Surg unit where he built a strong foundation in nursing and later gained additional experience in Telemetry before transferring to ICU in 2024. Since joining Critical Care, he has shown an unwavering commitment to compassionate, patient and family-centered care. He is known for his genuine kindness and steady presence, consistently bringing comfort and dignity to patients and their families during some of their most stressful moments. A patient’s family shared these words of gratitude: “Jon was my aunt’s nurse a couple of times and was very gentle with his assessments and very kind to her and to our family. You can tell he has compassion and empathy toward patients and families. I want to truly thank him from the bottom of our hearts.” Jon is also a dedicated mentor who believes in lifting others, helping cultivate a positive and collaborative work environment.

Congratulatios, Jon!
