December 2025 DAISY Award Recipient

Allyssa Tucker RN

Allyssa Tucker, RN, Labor & Delivery

DAISY Award – December 2025

Allyssa consistently strives to make a difference in the lives of her patients and their families.   She has spunk that few can match.  She was nominated by a patient (a fellow San Antonio nurse) who arrived in labor at just 35 weeks.  “Allyssa was the charge nurse that night and was instrumental in the delivery of my baby.  I hadn’t had a chance to complete my birthing classes and didn’t feel prepared for labor.  Allyssa reassured me that everything would be okay and promised that she and my nurse would be with me the entire time.  Allyssa was so positive, kind, and genuinely excited.  When my labor progressed quickly, she said ‘This is the best part of my job—let’s have a baby!’  She encouraged me, made us laugh, and lightened the mood.  I don’t think I could have done it without her support.  As a nurse myself, I understand how much an RN can shape a patient’s hospitalization for the better.  It was really special to experience that as a patient.”

Congratulations, Allyssa!
