San Antonio Regional Hospital is committed to meeting the maternal health needs of our diverse community. Due to evolving patient expectations, we have embarked on a capital campaign for a state- of-the-art, comprehensive maternity unit. Please consider supporting our mission to ensure healthy beginnings and the best in maternity care for generations to come.

 

OUR NEW MATERNITY UNIT will be equipped with advanced technology, with floorplans that allow for efficiency in care, workspace for clinical teams, and privacy for patients and their families. Postpartum rooms will be light and bright, with patio access to fresh air and sunshine to promote healing and wellbeing.

THE UNIT’S DESIGN will feature a separate emergency department dedicated solely to our maternity patients. Plans include private neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) rooms where parents can stay with their NICU babies, a concept that has been shown to reduce infections in vulnerable infants, decrease hospital stays, and increase parental bonding.

• 8 private labor/delivery/recovery rooms
• 20 private postpartum patient rooms (2 ADA compliant)
• 2 Cesarean Section surgical suites & 3 recovery bays
• Obstetrical emergency department with 4 patient care bays & 1 intake bay
• 16-bed Level II NICU with 3 private family rooms, 2 semi-private & 3 shared rooms
• Healthy Beginnings Family Care Center located adjacent to the Maternity Unit for perinatal classes as well as prenatal follow-up care & support
• Dedicated social worker to provide resources & assistance to our new patients
• 24/7 on-site laborist OB/GYN
