Experience a progressive approach to caring for patients.

Wouldn't you prefer to spend more time with your patients and less time with cumbersome systems and administrative tasks? With San Antonio Regional Hospital's time-saving systems – such as our fully integrated electronic medical record (EMR) system – evidenced-based practices, and safe nurse-to-patient ratios, you will.

Similar to other departments, collaboration drives the success of our Medical-Surgical nurses. Beyond the clinical nursing team, which enjoys significant floor support, the Medical-Surgical interdisciplinary approach involves the following individuals:

  • Physicians
  • Pharmacists
  • Case Managers
  • Social Workers
  • Rehabilitation Therapists
  • Dieticians
  • Respiratory Therapists
  • Nurse Navigators
You'll also receive guidance from a leadership team that includes the nursing director, clinical managers, and a nurse educator. And, our four-story tower is complete with 80 private medical and surgical rooms. It's the ideal environment for managing the complex needs of today's adult patients.

Pursue your passion.

By its nature, Medical-Surgical nursing requires broad-based skills and knowledge. For many nurses, this remains one of the most appealing aspects of the specialty. For others, there is a desire to fine-tune one's skills and knowledge. At San Antonio, you can follow either path. Pursue outstanding opportunities as a general Medical-Surgical nurse or focus on areas such as orthopedic and oncology nursing within the Medical-Surgical Department.

Regardless of which path you choose, you'll encounter ongoing opportunities to improve your skills and achieve your career goals.
