Dr. Najmeh Pakniyat is a Transitional Year Resident Physician at San Antonio Regional Hospital. She earned her medical degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and has a strong background in both clinical medicine and neuroscience research.

Prior to residency, Dr. Pakniyat developed an active academic career focused on neurotechnology, neuroscience, and biomedical signal processing. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and her work has contributed to advances in the understanding and early detection of neurological disorders. Her research has received international recognition, including multiple publications ranked among the top-cited papers in their respective fields and years.

Dr. Pakniyat is a Full Member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society, and serves as a peer reviewer for several international scientific journals, including Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews (Elsevier) and journals within the Springer Nature portfolio.

Her professional interests include neurology, molecular neuroimaging, neurotechnology, and the application of emerging technologies to improve patient care and advance precision medicine. She is passionate about lifelong learning, compassionate patient care, and bridging scientific discovery with clinical practice.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Pakniyat has a deep appreciation for the arts and enjoys painting and other creative pursuits, which she views as an important source of inspiration, observation, and lifelong learning.
